May I officially welcome you to the artist, Blacky Bridges. Although I have been involved in the music/entertainment industry as a side hobby as a child, only recently have I made the option to incorporate it more into my life. Already, it is a decision that has brought a good amount of peace and happiness that I will not regret. Founded in January 2020, Blacky Bridges is about the discovery of a new art, new way of expressing the bittersweet life moments that may come to us in life without rhyme or reason. In the end, there is hope to make it in the next moment, next hour, and next day. Sometimes that hope comes in the form of a person, restoring a dream, rediscovering faith, and understanding the need for community. May you read or hear something soon that will be inspiring or uplifting to you.

From an early age, Blacky Bridges knew music would be somehow interwoven into the many avenues life has taken him. Now, he is pursuing those avenues where purpose and intent have come together with reason. A reason...to be an inspiration to others to lift up hearts and souls of those going through challenging and troubling times.  

LOCAL ARTIST GOES SOLO SHARING A MESSAGE TO ENRICH DAILY LIVES

Local artist, Bryon Ownby, who will appear under the stage name, Blacky Bridges, announces relaunch of musical adventures after settling from the move out of East Tennessee.  This is the first time stepping out to go solo coming from a history of music genres that range from modern rock, pop, inspirational, bluegrass, and beyond. Musical styles have been described as one to have the voice mix of Elton John, Sam Smith, Teddy Swims with a love for Adele (and a range close to hers) and Hozier...not to mention a piano sound of Liberace and Beethoven. Blacky Bridges has taken many songs not intended for piano to beautifully arrange them for a pleasant entertainment experience. This will be a fascinating journey for everyone who comes out and shares in this experience to open your heart and learn to live life again through a message that will enrich daily lives from the music he provides. As like Jimmy Hendrix has been noted to say, it is true that in this experience, you will never hear the same song played the same way twice. Currently, rounds are being made at local Open Mics and meeting new fans and friends in the area. 

Blacky Bridges was born in the small quaint town of Dandridge, just east of Metro-Knoxville, TN but spent most of life in the Sevierville, Pigeon Forge area. At an early age of 9, after starting the study of piano at age 5, Bryon joined the family bluegrass/gospel band as pianist and vocalist with his family. That led to the  study of choir music in middle school, high school, and was part of a musical/drama team during college while obtaining a business degree from ETSU back in the 90's. Performances ranged then in many spiritual communities, clubs, and community theaters in the surrounding area. 

The most recent public performances of Blacky Bridges has been as role of music director for various theater projects and with various music teams in the spiritual realm. Current education credentials are a Bachelor's in Music Business from Berklee School of Music (2019), Certificate In Worship Arts from Trevecca University (2015), and a Masters in Education from Tusculum University (2013).
